UV Sheetfed Press Operator
About the Company
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced UV press operator in our sheetfed printing department. The operator will be responsible for the day to day print production and maintenance of the press. The position requires a person who is very organized and great in prioritizing, organizing and planning in order to see each job through completion and be able to meet given deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
- Read and understand job tickets to ensure production is produced according to specification
- Perform quality checks according to established procedures to ensure high quality of production
- Monitor printer efficiencies & speed to ensure production levels meet or exceed standards & make appropriate adjustments
- Assist in workflow and process improvement planning
- Must have the ability to maintain organization with multiple projects, prioritize workflow, adhere to timelines, and meet deadlines
- Observe machines in operation and make adjustments as needed
- Identify workable production solutions when troubleshooting
- Ensure deadlines are maintained and company objectives are met
- Maintain printer and inventory supplies as needed
- Must be prompt, courteous, professional and take pride in work
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Skills
- Ability to set up and operate a 41” UV sheetfed press. experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of current RIP software such as Colorgate or Caldera.
- A strong attention to detail along with a sharp focus on quality
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Able to multitask well, remain organized, and handle many projects at one time
- Hardworking, assertive, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization
- Ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
Experience
- Minimum of five years of sheetfed printing industry experience
- High School Diploma
